Plans have been submitted for the pedestrian plaza (or Landing) at Nashville Yards that will complete the connection from Church Street to Broadway. The Landing is situated between the gallery of Nashville Yards skyscrapers and the rail yard. Plans also showcase the branding signage, as Ascension Saint Thomas has naming rights to the 131-acre plaza. The project is located at 1010 Broadway.
The Landing will also bridge the connection between the upcoming Nashville Yards shopping plaza and The Union Station Nashville Yards, Autograph Collection Hotel. Some featured amenities along the plaza include flexible event spaces, stand-alone food & beverage structures, 6 covered pickleball courts, amphitheater, and large projection screen to name a few.
A request has been submitted for concept plan approval to permit the renovation for the amenities zoned DTC. A separate request has been submitted to MDHA for the portion of the site surrounding Union Station. Both requests were submitted by Gresham Smith, on behalf of the property owner. Pedestrians will traverse between the Pinnacle Tower and the Grand Hyatt, using the ramp or monument stair. This segment includes a dog walk, the amphitheater, restrooms, and restaurant structures. The 6 pickleball courts and the projection screen are located below the Broadway overpass. There is also access to the Landing from a spiral monument stair at the Grand Hyatt.
Union Station
The area surrounding Union Station offers a different pedestrian experience. There is a flexible event space with a stage, a standalone bar structure with outdoor seating, and a grove terrace. Access to the Landing is located across from the Frist Museum.
The project is scheduled for the 7/25/24 Metro Planning Commission Agenda and upcoming MDHA agenda.
