The structure can now been seen of the new dual branded Canopy & Homewood Suites by Hilton. Charlotte based Tara Investments & Yates Construction broke ground project in February of this year. The eleven-story new construction hotel will include a 181-key Canopy and 152-key Homewood Suites, with a target opening in 2024. The project is located at 910 Division Street.

The project is representative of Nashville’s hotel resurgence as many planned projects have started construction.  This is the second hotel currently under construction in the Nashville Gulch.  Moreover, this is the 4th hotel currently under construction as shown in the hotel development map below.

Retail / Restaurant Space – Brokered by Ojas Partners.

The project will activate the two primary streets which border the project.  Division Street includes 2,169 SF of street level restaurant / retail space with an outdoor patio currently brokered by OJAS Partners. The retail is highlighted in the image above.

The site was formerly home to Yazoo Brewery. The new hotel bar will feature a Yazoo taproom in honor of its former location. Both the hotel bar and cafe is also located on Division Street and continues onto Overton Street. The porte cochere, hotel lobby, and entrance into the parking garage is located on Overton Street as well. Additionally, The Rooftop Bar is a mezcal-focused cocktail experience that will complement the other coffee bar and restaurant options. Here’s the quick rundown:

While the two concepts will share a fitness center, two restaurants, a café, and outdoor terrace, each property will have its own meeting and event spaces. The two brands offer very different takes on the hospitality sector. Homewood Suites are one of Hilton’s extended stay brands with full kitchens and separate living areas to provide a home away from home. Canopy is a newer brand, launched by Hilton in the United States in 2018, with a focus on providing the authentic, local experience of a boutique hotel with all the comforts and trappings of a global luxury brand.

Canopy’s design will specifically draw inspiration from the industrial-revitalization of the Gulch area, with brass scaffolding, metal mesh screens, and cold-rolled steel stairs all paying homage to the neighborhood’s roots. With a neutral palette for the finishes, the guest rooms will additionally feature wood floors, concrete ceilings, a metal mesh bed canopy with denim and leather headboards, and a reclaimed metal barn door.
