Indianapolis-based SUN Companies has reached the final planning stages for a 12-story hotel development in East Nashville. The project is also within the borders of the East Bank development district and will serve as a gateway development into the East Bank. The site is located at 408 Woodland Street.

The project received preliminary SP approval in February of 2023 for an 11-story structure within 143 feet. The updated plan now shows a 12-story structure within approximately 132 feet with a surface valet lot behind the building. The project also joins a list of upcoming and planned hotel developments in and around the East Bank and new Titans Stadium. The map below shows a sample of adjacent developments for context.

A request for final site plan approval has been submitted for the project. Once approved, the request will permit the hotel on the 0.79 acres site. The request was made by Fulmer Lucas Engineering LLC, on behalf of the property owner. Here’s the quick rundown:

The hotel lobby is located on Woodland Street and is flanked by the lobby bar and dining area. The entrance into the parking deck is also located on Woodland Street, with the main parking area level 2. Level 3 includes a 6,129 SF Banquet Hall, with 3 adjoining meeting rooms and prefunction area. The guest rooms are primarily located on levels 4-11 with a select number of rooms on level 12. Level 12 features a rooftop deck, restaurant/bar, and fitness center.
The project is scheduled for the 12/12/2024 Metro Planning Commission agenda.
