“With Tennyson, we sought to create more than just beautiful homes—we wanted to craft a living experience that honors Germantown’s history while embracing the future of Nashville. Each residence reflects a commitment to timeless design, quality craftsmanship, and a deep appreciation for the neighborhood’s rich heritage. We’re excited to welcome homeowners to this special community.”
Derek Lisle, Partner at Place Development Corp.

CityNowNext had an opportunity to tour the upcoming Luxe development to experience it first hand. Even while under construction, the homes were impressive and offered great insight into Luxe real estate in the Nashville urban core. Tennyson is located in the heart of the historic Germantown neighborhood, and is directly adjacent to public parks, greenways, and the central dog park; offering easy access to the Germantown Riverfront, Neuhoff District, & Downtown Nashville.

The first level welcomes you into a spacious and sophisticated foyer, setting the tone and high level of expectation for the rest of the home. As you open the doors you are greeted with distinctive floor to ceiling treatments which are included in all 16 models.
Materials consists of marble tile floors framed with 6 inch base molding, 10 feet of wainscoting on the walls, even ascending up the grand stair, and 4” cove molding at the ceiling, which is framed by a 3” base trim. This level also includes a bedroom, full bath, mudroom, and traditional 2-car garage wide enough to fit two full-size vehicles with additional space on the side for passage.
“Tennyson Germantown brings together high-quality construction, refined finishes, and floor plans shaped by years of experience—reflecting how people truly want to live in an urban home here in Germantown,” said John Root, principal at rootARCH. “Each home is designed to feel intentional and enduring, honoring the neighborhood’s character while offering something distinctly new to the Nashville market.”
Taking either the elevator or stair, your eyes are drawn to the formal dining room’s framed opening with its modern lighting fixture. The tall windows from the exterior translates into beautiful floor to ceiling windows creating a grand yet inviting living room.

The kitchen offers an experience of its own as the White Oak cabinets provide a warm backdrop to the space. Anchored by a massive kitchen island with marble countertops, the island provides ample space for food prep, eating, and entertaining. Featured appliances include built-in side by side Fisher Paykel column refrigerator and freezer, Wolf gas range, Landmark wine fridge, and Faber range hood. There is a large informal dining area on the other side of the island. However, for those more formal occasions, the homes have a butler’s pantry/ separate prep area with sink between the kitchen and formal dining area.

“The historical significance of the location was extremely important to the client. Our approach was to celebrate the deeply rooted historical styles of the neighborhood while creating a warm, bright, current space in the heart of the Nashville. We used traditional lines in the details, focusing on the circular and oval verses a strict, 90-degree angle aesthetic. We intentionally balanced angles and curves, not looking at trends rather cultivating a graceful harmony between the classical and the current. “

The juxtaposition between the curved and linear can be seen in the Owner’s Suite bathroom, with its oval soaking tub as the centerpiece creating an in home retreat. The scale of the sleeping quarters provides a sense of intimate grandeur, a departure from the over-sized and underutilized space in many modern Owners suites. As far as outdoor spaces, each unit comes with a rooftop deck with views of the Germantown and Downtown Nashville skylines with optional built-in outdoor kitchen, the only option offered for the homes. There is also a steel cable deck in the rear of each townhome.

Tennyson is brokered by Compass Nashville with homes now selling $1.6 million to $2.6 million at the publishing of this story. The project is scheduled for completion this summer. For all inquiries into this opportunity click the link here.
