The Fallon Company has just announced the selection of two leading architecture and design teams for its first phase of development on the East Bank. Architectural firms HKS and Gresham Smith/ Morris Adjmi Architects were selected to take on the first phase of this once-in-a-generation redevelopment opportunity. The East Bank will create a new neighborhood along the east side of the Cumberland River and directly across from Downtown Nashville.
“This group of architects and designers represents the best of both Nashville and national talent,” said Michael Fallon, CEO of The Fallon Company. “Our collective vision will shape an inclusive and vibrant neighborhood that reflects the energy and aspirations of Nashville’s East Bank.”

HKS has been named the architect for the hotel planned for Parcel C1, bringing their nationally recognized expertise in hospitality design to the East Bank. Known for their thoughtful, context-driven approach, HKS will also collaborate with Michael Hsu Office of Architecture to shape the retail podium and placemaking vision for the broader Parcel C site. The Austin-based Michael Hsu team brings a strong track record in creating memorable, people-centric public spaces that help define the character of a district.
“Our firm is proud to be partnering with The Fallon Company for the Phase 1 master planning of this landmark development as well as the design of its flagship hotel,” said Mark Buskuhl, Global Practice Director for Commercial/Mixed Use at HKS. “This site presents a rare opportunity to create a vibrant, active and connected neighborhood from the ground up — one that blends hospitality, community, and design in meaningful ways. We’re extremely pleased to partner with The Fallon Company on a project that will help define the future of Nashville’s East Bank.”

For Parcel C2, which will be home to a new multi-family residential community, The Fallon Company has selected Nashville-based Gresham Smith as architect of record, in partnership with renowned design architect Morris Adjmi Architects. This pair combines the local expertise of Gresham Smith with the award winning design of Morris Adjmi Architects and their focus on contextual design within urban environments.
“We’re thrilled to serve on Fallon’s design team alongside Morris Adjmi to help bring the first phase of the East Bank vision to life,” said Brandon Bell, AIA, Principal and Residential Practice Leader at Gresham Smith. “As a local firm that’s called Nashville home for more than 50 years, we’re honored to play a role in a transformational project that will shape the future of our city.”

The architectural selections are aligned with the Public Realm Framework released earlier this year by The Fallon Company and Metro Nashville. The plan prioritizes walkability, connectivity, and a dynamic mix of uses to bring the East Bank to life. Construction on the first parcels is expected to begin in 2026.
