Wood Partners continue to make progress on the upcoming multifamily development ALTA Rochelle in EdgeHill. The developer announced the closing of 3.9-acre property back in December 2023 and broke ground shortly after. The new development can now be seen from various vantage points around the city. The upcoming redevelopment of the Rochelle Center is located adjacent to Downtown and the Nashville Gulch at 1021 South Street.

The project’s name, ALTA Rochelle, honors the legacy of W.R. Rochelle. In 1968, long-time area educator W.R. Rochelle began the foundation of the agency The Rochelle Center to offer support for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The W.R. Rochelle Foundation continues that mission today through the Rochelle Center.
ALTA Rochelle marks the 2nd recent large multifamily project on this segment of the 12-South corridor. It is also located one street over from a planned 730-unit mixed-use district at the former Beaman Dealership site. Together the Beaman Site and ALTA Rochelle will bring a combined 1,081units to the segment. The Edgewood Neighborhood Plan which was adopted August of 2025 also proposes future infill sites surrounding these properties. Snapshots of the Neighborhood Vision and upcoming units are shown below for context. Here’s the quick rundown:
