The development team behind the planned East Bank Residence Inn, will look to amend the previously approved design. The new proposal has a reduction in both building height and guestrooms, as well as changes to the overall design. The now 8-story hotel is located at the corner of Oldham Street and N. 1st Street.

The site received initial approval in October 2023 for a 14-story structure with 235 hotel rooms and 8,000 SF of non-residential uses. It also included 144 parking spaces. A request has been submitted to amend the current SP Zoning for the property. Once approved the amendment will permit the 8-story hotel on the 0.80 acre site. The request was made by Kimley-Horn on behalf of the property owner. Here’s the quick rundown:

While the layout has changed, the ground floor program generally remains the same. However, one of the retail spaces did shift from North 1st Street to Oldham Street. Plans show 127 valet parking spaces, with hotel rooms concealing the garage along the perimeter. Other changes include the rooftop lounge, meeting spaces, and outdoor terrace have moved from the rooftop to the 3rd floor.
The amendment is scheduled for the 11/13/2025 Metro Planning Commission Agenda.
