Merus has announced the opening of the new 500,000+ SF build-to-suit manufacturing and warehouse facility for Simpson Strong-Tie, a leading building products manufacturer with deep roots in Middle Tennessee. Merus initially announced its plans for the $125 million project in October 2023. The completed project keeps Simpson Strong-Tie’s operations and approximately 250 jobs anchored in Gallatin while creating long-term capacity for future growth. The site is located at 1585 Airport Road in Gallatin.

“This project reflects what’s possible when site strategy, design, and construction are fully aligned around an end user’s business,” said Patrick Poole, SVP & Nashville Market Leader at Merus. “Simpson Strong-Tie needed room to grow without leaving a community integral to its success. Our role was to deliver a facility that supports today’s operations while positioning the company for what’s next.”

The new facility is located on a 64-acre campus, including a 42.8-acre parcel developed specifically for Simpson Strong-Tie. The site’s premier location in Gallatin, combined with Merus’s deep market and design-build expertise, prompted Simpson Strong-Tie to partner with Merus on the state-of-the-art facility.
“Simpson Strong-Tie is excited to open our state-of-the-art facility in Gallatin, enhancing our ability to serve our customer base and strengthening our distribution network while delivering even greater value and product innovation,” said Mike Olosky, CEO of Simpson Strong-Tie. “This manufacturing and training facility is unlike any other in the construction industry, featuring end-to-end fastening production under one roof with the latest equipment and technology. We’re proud to expand our presence in Tennessee, a state with a growing, vibrant population, a skilled workforce and a supportive business environment.”

Ware Malcomb served as architect for the project, with Merus leading delivery through an integrated design-build approach. The team worked closely with Simpson Strong-Tie to keep the project moving from design through construction, making timely decisions that aligned scope, schedule, and budget. The 500,250-square-foot, $125 million facility will test and manufacture a range of anchors, fasteners and Quik Drive® fastening tools.
The facility opened with 227 employees, including machine operators, maintenance technicians, heat treat techs, and process and product engineers, and is expected to create an additional 20 jobs in 2026.
