Avery Hall continues progress at its new South End mixed-use development in Charlotte. The upcoming development consists of 263 apartments, retail space, and promises best in class amenities. The project is located on the popular South Tryon corridor and has easy access to several multimodal transportation options. The site is within five minutes of the New Bern Lynx Blue Line light rail stop, the Charlotte Rail Trail, and bus lines. The new apartments are situated 5 minutes to Uptown Charlotte’s urban core at 2801 S Tryon Street.

Avery Hall acquired the multi-parcel site back in 2022. In addition to its proximity to transportation options, it is also easily accessible to some of the areas top shopping and entertainment, Class A office buildings including the global headquarters of major Fortune 500 companies and is located in a highly sought after subdistrict for recent development activity. Overall, the building lobby and entrance into the parking deck is located on Poindexter Street. Residences face south Tryon Street on the ground floor and feature oversized punch windows; some residences also have prominent entrances into the units from the street. The apartments throughout the project will feature premium finishes with custom designed millwork, many with unobstructed views from oversized windows.

Designed by Cline Design Associates, amenities include a two floor co-working café and lounge, porte-cochere and off-street move-in bay, fitness center with adjacent outdoor fitness lawn, 4th floor pool courtyard with dining, lounge spaces and open views across the South End, 8th floor sky lounge and terrace with Downtown views, and a pickleball court with outdoor dining support. Construction Update
The developer broke ground on the 2.5-acre project in the summer of last year; as of March of this year the concrete podium is nearly complete.  Here is a look at construction progress as of March 2026.
