Equally Created, a local nonprofit providing early childhood education across Nashville, is doubling its footprint as it closes on two new locations in North and West Nashville. According to the Nonprofit, in Davidson County, 40% of families with young children struggle to find and afford high-quality childcare. The organization is working to close the gap by offering a sliding tuition and scholarships based on income. The new centers will be located at:
- 3810 Clifton Ave, will serve 140 children
- 650 54th Ave N, will serve 80 children, inside the Modera Nations

“We know that 90% of brain development happens before age five, so this is a really critical time in their lives that we are a part of,” said Leslie Hanson, Executive Director and Founder of Equally Created. “By designing a space and a curriculum where children learn to regulate emotions, build relationships, and develop resilience, we are giving them the solid foundation they deserve.”
The organization currently runs two childcare facilities serving 140 children, and these new locations will expand its total capacity to 360 with the financial support of BrightBridge Capital, Regions, Dettwiller Foundation, and The Lewis Family Fund. Equally Created serves children from 6 weeks through Pre-K with research-based, trauma-informed care that supports the academic, social-emotional, and developmental needs of all young children, including those with more complex needs.

“Equally Created has quickly become a pillar in the Nashville childcare community,” said Melanie Shinbaum, Executive Director of Nashville Early Education Coalition. “These additional childcare slots represent opportunity, dignity, and support for families who have too often been left without accessible options.”
The Project Team for the new centers includes DWC, Smith Gee Studios, and Thomas & Hutton. To learn more about their curriculum, give towards their new facilities, or join the waitlist for the new facilities, visit the website (here).
