Portman has announced that PennePazze, a farm-to-table Italian dining concept, and GelatoPazzo, its companion gelato concept, are now open at Starling, in Germantown. Located adjacent to one another, the concepts bring a vibrant culinary experience to the neighborhood with chef-driven Italian fare, handcrafted cocktails and authentic gelato.
“Opening PennePazze at Starling represents an exciting chapter for our team and Nashville-born brand,” said founder Rony Stark. “Launching both PennePazze and GelatoPazzo allows us to bring a full expression of Italian hospitality to this community, from a sit-down meal to a quick gelato along the Greenway. We are thrilled to create a welcoming space where residents and visitors can gather and enjoy our crazy good pasta and gelato.”
PennePazze serves high-quality pasta and pinsa (Roman-style pizza) with the freshest ingredients and a dash of southern flair. Complementing its Italian wine selection, the Starling location also features a new cocktail bar with unique, fresh and herbal drinks, including Old Fashioned-style cocktails infused with truffle oil and a variety of classic Italian spritzes. GelatoPazzo blends traditional techniques with Sicilian-style service and pairs each gelato with fresh brioche.

Facing First Horizon Park, the home of the Nashville Sounds, the restaurants include a patio space that fronts the Cumberland River Greenway. PennePazze opened its first restaurant in Nashville’s L&L Market in 2020 and opened a second location at Fountains at Gateway in Murfreesboro in 2023.
The Starling location features a refined and elevated interior design, and it introduces the brand’s first Italian market, where guests can purchase house-made items and specialty products.
