BELL Construction joined Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) Henry/Carroll for a ribbon cutting at its McKenzie campus, celebrating the completion of a new 20,000-square-foot academic and administration building and campus improvements that support career training for West Tennessee residents.
The project updates a campus that has served the community since 1965, providing new classrooms, student services and administrative spaces to support students preparing to enter the workforce or advance in their careers. The new building includes an Administrative Office Technology classroom and lab, a bookstore and a community event room, along with classroom and lab space for an allied health program.

“As a Tennessee builder and employer, we see firsthand how much our communities depend on people with technical skills,” said Eric Pyle, president of BELL Construction. “This project is an investment in the people who will keep West Tennessee businesses and communities moving forward. We’re proud to help provide a place where students can prepare for a career and build a future close to home.”

For students, the investment provides updated learning environments and access to support services close to home. For area employers, it strengthens the campus facilities that support a local pipeline of skilled workers. For the community, the campus has been a longstanding resource since the early days of the TCAT system, helping generations of residents access educational opportunities close to home. The new building complements the campus’s existing instructional wing, where students train in fields including welding, automotive technology, heating and air conditioning, industrial maintenance and machine tool technology.

BELL served as construction manager at risk for the Tennessee Board of Regents, a repeat client, with Haizlip Studio as architect. The work required coordination on an active campus and included site development and necessary utility and infrastructure improvements. The final phase removed the former administration building and repurposed the area for parking, pedestrian walkways and green space.
The completion adds to BELL’s higher education work across Tennessee and the surrounding region, including projects at the University of Tennessee, the University of the South, Tennessee State University, University of Memphis, Austin Peay State University and Murray State University.
