Eastwood Village is a new adaptive reuse, mixed-use development in East Nashville. Located in the Eastwood community, the former Church has been converted to 4 uniquely designed apartments, office, and retail space. There are also new single-family homes. Eastwood Village is located at the corner of Greenwood & Chapel Avenues. The physical address is 1716 Greenwood Avenue.
Vintage South, who is known for its creative adaptive reuse projects, took on the redevelopment of the site. Once complete, the 26,000 SF chapel will become a commerce and social center for the Eastwood community. The office & retail buildout is still underway; however, the residences are now leasing. Eastwood Village offers 4 uniquely designed residences located within the former Church. The units range in size from 500 – 651 square feet and includes all utilities, except for cable & internet. Although each floor plan is different, they all feature polished concrete floors, modern kitchens with mosaic backsplash, washer/dryer in each unit, large windows, and sleek bathrooms with walk-in shower.
Eastwood is an established East Nashville community located just a short walk to Gallatin Avenue. Gallatin Avenue is lined with restaurants and grocery stores. It will also get you direct access to Downtown Nashville and other popular East Nashville destinations.
History of Hobson United Methodist Church
Hobson United Methodist Church built their first building on this property in 1853. In February of 1862, the federal army occupied Nashville and used the church as a hospital and horse stable. Later, the church was used as a school for boys. The church expanded through the years with the chapel being constructed in 1868, the main sanctuary facing Greenwood in 1929, and a two-story education building in 1953 to connect the original church and sanctuary.
