Dallas based Hospitality group, Milkshake Concepts, will soon open its second Harper’s Steak House location in downtown Nashville. Harper’s will open later this summer at Peabody Plaza in the burgeoning South Bank district in the Nashville urban core. Construction of the 9,000-square-foot restaurant will occupy the ground floor space of the Peabody Plaza Office building at the corner of Lea Avenue and Peabody street.
“Nashville is a tremendous community we greatly admire and have grown to love, and we’re thrilled to add a really special culinary destination to it with Harper’s. We’re confident locals will love the concept and its unique steakhouse experience with global culinary influences. We’ve worked tirelessly with a talented local team to create an original design for the restaurant that complements its exciting food and beverage offerings. We are really proud of the venue and look forward to opening our doors to new friends and neighbors soon.”
Imran Sheikh, Co-Founder & CEO at Milkshake Concepts.
Milkshake Concepts’ interior design team along with Barnett Design Group out of Franklin led Harper’s architectural design, which features intricate stonework and archways, accented by vibrant wallpaper and lush greenery, resulting in a modern aesthetic with classic touches and stylish flair. Dowdle Construction is the contractor.
The owners wanted Harper’s in a location that is ideally situated for Nashvillians who are celebrating special occasions, hosting business meetings, or just a gathering amongst friends, being easily accessible on the outskirts of the city’s center. It will be a convenient gathering spot, “for tenants of the Peabody Plaza building, Trolley Barns, and upcoming Peabody Union, while being walkable for neighboring downtown residences like Riverview Apartments to Four Seasons Private Residences within the Southbank District”.
Harper’s menu is guided by Milkshake Senior Culinary Director Chef Rodman Shields and Corporate Chef, Eric Friedline, who have married US steakhouse roots while drawing on inspiration from Asia, Europe and the Americas to produce a culinary experience with classic yet inventive touches. It invites guests to embark on a journey with eclectic, globally influenced steak preparations. A creative mixology program will boasts inventive cocktails while the sommelier-curated wine program ensures dishes are expertly paired with some of the world’s best labels. Harper’s plans to be a community destination all-day, all-week and will roll out inventive lunch and brunch programs while offering free valet service.
Milkshake has tapped industry veteran Heather Karst as General Manager of Harper’s. Karst has been with Milkshake for more than a year and boasts previous stints in food and beverage management positions with the Dream Hotel Nashville, The Westin Nashville, and Chartwell Hospitality.
Added Sheikh, “We are committed to deep and personalized service and building lasting connections within the community, and Heather is perfectly suited to execute on this and act as the face of Harper’s for our guests.”
