I am both humbled and excited to share upcoming changes to CityNowNext. Before I jump into it, I’d like to start by honoring my father the late Robert Looper II, who passed last year and for giving me the love, values, and grit I needed to succeed in any environment. I’d like to thank my sponsors both past and present for your support and belief in what I could do to provide great exposure to your brands. I’d also like to express my gratitude to the people and commercial real estate (CRE) community here in Nashville, across the country and world for embracing my style of development news reporting and the vision I have for this platform.

As we start to enter 2024, I will gradually introduce new branding across the website and social media outlets. The goal for the branding refresh is to help readers identify and connect with original content created by CityNowNext. Branding will remain minimal as the platform will continue to showcase the work of others first and not solely to promote itself. My goal when you see the brand is for you to see yourself as an integral part of it. Story formats will also continue to evolve to make it easier to screenshot and post to social media without impacting the integrity of the work or subject matter.

Since running for public office in Washington, D.C. (back in 2014) my color schemes have been variations of Red, White, and Blue. I am excited to continue that tradition with CityNowNext logos. The primary logos will either be black or white with the addition of accent colors to complement renderings and other graphic design elements. The notches in the logo typeface as well as in the logo image, pay tribute to the enhanced before and after interactivity of the NowNext slider and the brand itself; hence the name CityNowNext.

CityNowNext Emerge (Emerge) represents the evolution of CityNowNext into a platform to showcase and reinforce the strength of existing emerging markets – starting with Nashville. The platform will also have its own web page on CityNowNext, which will debut early next year. Similar to the CityNowNext news platform, Emerge will serve to complement and amplify the initiatives of the local CRE nonprofit community, Mayor’s Office, and elect State entities. The platform will also highlight and amplify trends that support the strength of the market as well as address and identify solutions to trends that pose potential risks to the CRE Industry. There are two events launching in 2024, a cross-industry panel series themed,
- “Focusing Beyond the Great Reset”, and
- “The Cumberland River Renaissance: An Interactive Development Tour”.
Events are anticipated to begin Q1/Q2 of 2024. Here’s a glimpse at what to expect, with more details rolling out in the coming weeks.

This series will aim to bring together industry leaders in the CRE industry by spotlighting key initiatives and trends that contribute to Nashville’s economic strength in their perspective industries. This series will also offer opportunities for event partnerships, networking, knowledge sharing, and foster alignment between public, private, and creative entities within the Nashville CRE industry. CityNowNext will continue to provide coverage of initiatives by other organizations, even further, the platform will also offer opportunities for guest contributors.

The Cumberland River has provided Nashville with a once in a generation opportunity to create acres and miles of new development. CityNowNext has partnered with Pontoon Saloon to launch The Cumberland River Renaissance: An interactive Development tour (Development Tour). The partnership will introduce a new and recurring networking event by combining the interactivity of CityNowNext with the fun and excitement of Pontoon Saloon’s river cruises. Tours are anticipated to start late spring/early summer. Keep an eye out for marketing updates.
CityNowNext has already signed up major sponsors for these exciting Emerge events and has introduced a new Sponsorship Tier. For Sponsorship opportunities, speaking opportunities, and details on the panel topics, complete the contact form below.
