Plans have surfaced for a new freestanding emergency room, TriStar East Nashville ER. The planned facility is centrally located near major development activity along the Dickerson Pike transit corridor and the Nashville East Bank. It will also make a significant addition to the existing established communities in East Nashville. The new ER will replace an existing single story commercial building located at 800 Dickerson Pike.
Headquartered in Nashville, HCA Healthcare is one of the nation’s leading providers of healthcare services with 180 hospitals and approximately 2,300 sites of care, including surgery centers, freestanding emergency rooms, urgent care centers, home health and hospice agencies, and physician clinics, located in 20 states and the United Kingdom. In Tennessee, HCA operates under the TriStar network in the Greater Nashville Region and Parkridge in the Chattanooga Area.

The Dickerson Pike location represents a major infrastructure investment in the area which has seen major growth over the past few years. The area has a healthy pipeline of projects in the works such as Park 24 by attainable housing developer Holladay Ventures. Additionally, once planned pedestrian infrastructure improvements are complete across the interstate and Cumberland River, the site will be even more accessible to projects such as the River North Mixed-Use District on the East Bank by D.C.-based MRP Realty, and Neuhoff District by Atlanta-based New City Properties.
A request has been submitted to rezone the property from IWD to SP zoning. Once approved the request will permit an emergency room on the 1.85 acres site. The request was made by Ingram Civil Engineering Group on behalf of the property owner. Here’s the quick rundown:

The plans propose a comprehensive ER which includes 11 private exam rooms and specialty labs spaces. The ambulatory entrance and parking lot are located at the rear of the property while the patient waiting room, registration, and triage is located at the South Entrance. Improvements along Dickerson Pike include new sidewalks, landscape buffer and street trees.

The project is slated for the 9/12/2024 Metro Planning Commission agenda.
