Completed in 2014, the Fairfield by Marriott was the first new hotel in the early transformation of the Nashville Gulch. The building is situated on a long parcel but only fronts Division Street, this was until a recent proposal that will look to increase the building’s footprint. Similar to recent adjacent projects, the hotel will extend its footprint closer towards the interstate, becoming part of the skyline into downtown. The project is located at 901 Division Street.

A request has been submitted for concept plan approval to permit selective demolition and renovation of the existing building zoned DTC. Once approved, the request will permit the new addition on the 1.36-acre site. The request was made BCA-Studios Architects on behalf of the property owner. Here’s the quick rundown:

Overall, the project includes a new two-level parking deck and 6 levels of guestrooms. The 136-room addition proposes a mix of King & Queen type guestrooms. The existing hotel connects to the new addition at the elevator lobbies starting on level 3, up to the rooftop amenity on level 8. The new building also features a fitness center on the top floor.
