Plans have officially been submitted for the new Tennessee Performing Arts Center (TPAC) on the East Bank. The submission follows TPAC and Metro’s February signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to advance the planning of the new performing arts center on the East Bank of the Cumberland River. The new 377,000 SF performing arts facility will include performance halls as well as offices for TPAC. It is bordered by East Bank Blvd, Victory Avenue, Davidson Street, and Music City Mile.

A request has been submitted for minor modification approval to permit the new performing arts center which also includes below-grade parking. The site is located within the East Bank Redevelopment District and zoned DTC. Once approved, the request will advance the new 377,000 square foot facility on the 5.80 acres site. The request was made by Hastings Architecture on behalf of the Metro Nashville Government.

The preliminary space plans offer a general glimpse into what to expect. There are three primary zones for the building which includes lobby circulation, two theaters, and theater support space. There are two sets of exterior monumental stairs on the east and west of the theater which provide access to Music City Mile (MCM), the elevated pedestrian plaza. The entrance into the underground parking deck as well as back of house uses such as the loading dock is located below the Music City Mile.
The project is scheduled for the 5.14.2026 Metro Planning Commission Agenda.
