Oracle has officially submitted plans for a new pedestrian bridge that will connect the River North District of the East Bank to Germantown. Oracle first released images of updated design in October of last year when it released images of its Nashville HQ; the submitted plans offer additional context from that release.

The submission marks the 2nd major public infrastructure project as part of Oracle’s commitment. Oracle has already completed one segment of Greenway/Riverfront Park along the first phase of River North, however, it is not yet open to the Public. The submitted plans did not show a continuation of that segment of Greenway as part of this phase of the project. That work will likely be included with the NOBU hotel project which is located between River North and the pedestrian bridge landing.

A request has been submitted for final site plan approval for the properties that make up the site – which is zoned MUI-A, SP, and within the River North Urban Design Overlay District. Once approved, the request will advance the pedestrian bridge spanning the Cumberland River. The request was made by Thomas and Hutton, on behalf of the property owners. Here’s the quick rundown:

Once it spans the Cumberland River, the River North Landing splits into 2 directions. It continues to Waterside Drive to the South and Oracle’s planned HQ to the North. It is also next to the announced NOBU hotel.
