W.E. O’Neil Construction has appointed Nicholas (Nick) Schubert as General Counsel. Schubert’s appointment to this newly created role reflects W.E. O’Neil’s continued evolution and its enduring commitment to strengthening the enterprise capabilities needed to support its people and clients for the future.
“Nick brings a rare combination of construction-industry knowledge, General Counsel and executive experience, and the strategic judgment to build a legal and risk function that supports our business,” shared Finn. “He understands that effective legal leadership is about more than identifying risk. It’s about helping our teams make sound decisions, find practical paths forward, and create the consistency we need to succeed at scale.”

In this new role, Schubert will serve as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, reporting directly to Chief Executive Officer John Finn. Schubert earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Denver Sturm School of Law and is a member of the Colorado Bar Association. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Economics from Fordham University.
As General Counsel, Schubert will lead W.E. O’Neil’s enterprise legal and risk function, providing strategic and practical counsel on business and construction matters, including contracts, claims and disputes, insurance, compliance, outside counsel, and enterprise risk. He will also work closely with the company’s safety leadership to further incorporate safety into its integrated approach to enterprise risk management.
