The Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) Henry/Carroll broke ground on the future home of its new campus. Designed by Bauer Askew, the vision behind the architecture was to reflect the technical nature of instruction inside the building. The new facility is funded by the generational $1 billion investment in the statewide TCAT Master Plan which includes 29 major projects that include new TCAT extension campuses, new buildings on existing campuses, and other expansions and upgrades. The new campus is located at 5215 Hwy 218 Bypass in Paris, Tennessee.

“We are honored to help build a brighter future for students and the local community,” said Eric Pyle, president of BELL. “Our team is excited to begin construction of this long-awaited facility and help TCAT Henry/Carroll expand its role as a leading career technical education center for workforce development.”

BELL Construction is serving as the construction manager at risk (CMAR) for this significant replacement campus, which will feature 96,000-square-feet of new state-of-the-art facilities as well as site, parking, driveway and infrastructure enhancements. The new facility will include larger laboratories designed to simulate work environments for practical instruction and skill development as well as classrooms and support spaces for faculty, staff and students.
Programs within the new facilities will include cosmetology, information technology systems, health & nursing, criminal justice, residential building maintenance, woodworking, industrial maintenance, collision repair, machine tooling and welding.
Upon completion, the college will be ready to accept students into its existing programs that will be relocated and expanded. According to the release, these program offerings have been planned through data-driven analysis of workforce needs with assistance of business and industry in the region.
Site preparation has begun and construction is set for February 2025 of the new 99,618-square-foot facility which will include an administrative building and an academic building. The new campus is tentatively scheduled to open to students by late fall 2026.
