Cleveland-based brand, Saucy Brew Works, has plans to open its 6th location in Nashville. Lead by another Cleveland-based firm, the GBX Group, LLC, the new restaurant, coffee shop, and brew pub will open at the historic Geddes Firehouse in Rutledge Hill. The GBX Group specializes in preserving and operating historic real estate and will use their expertise to bring the Saucy Brew Works concept to the site. The project is located on 623 2nd Avenue South.

Saucy Brew Works was founded in 2017 in Cleveland Ohio and has won awards for Best Brewery and outstanding small business. Saucy operates in 5 locations throughout Ohio with Nashville as its 6th. A request for final site plan was submitted for the project which is currently zones DTC. Here’s the quick rundown:

The Overall development consists of 3 main components which includes the interior renovation of the historic firehouse, the conversion of the parking lot to a permeable public space, and a new podium for cold storage and modular(container) kitchen units.
The interior of the firehouse will feature a new bar with seating throughout the new space. The openness of the space allows for various seating configurations for the establishment. Traveling to the back of the firehouse leads to a bank of restrooms and the new kitchen and cold storage area.
The parking lot will be transformed into an inviting beer garden with landscaped areas that is partially framed by the modular containers. The containers serve double duty as storage and kitchen areas on the inside and a stage and seating area on the outside. The new outdoor area has plenty of space for both outdoor seating and standing within the establishment.
The project is scheduled for the 9/22/22 Metro Planning Agenda.
