W.E. O’Neil Construction has announced the promotion of Gregg Riddle to Vice President in Tennessee. Gregg will lead the Nashville office and work closely with Todd Guthrie, Regional President. His new role focuses on building the Tennessee region to align with W.E. O’Neil’s national standard and reputation.

W.E. O’Neil entered the Nashville market when they acquired a local firm in 2014. Since the acquisition, the local team has built projects such as Motif on Music Row, Murfreesboro Housing Authority’s Oakland Court, and a new office building for TDOT. Now, they’re looking to take the next step in their growth under Gregg’s leadership.
“This relocation marks an exciting new chapter for both Gregg and our company as we focus on strengthening our Nashville office,” said John Finn, Chief Operating Officer. “Gregg has been a driving force behind our success since joining the California office eight years ago. His dedication, innovative thinking, and leadership have been pivotal in numerous high-profile projects, significantly enhancing our reputation for excellence and reliability within the construction community.

“What excites me about this new role is the challenge. I’ll be building staff, culture, and relationships. It’s going to be an awesome challenge,” says Riddle. “My favorite company value here is ’WE own it.’ We’re a 100% employee-owned ESOP business, so it refers to literal ownership. But it’s also about how we do business. We do what we say we are going to do.”
Riddle continued, “We care about the experience our clients and partners have when working on a project. We’re not just building buildings, we’re building relationships,“ says Riddle. “Our goal is to be a trusted partner who can execute their work. W.E. O’Neil brings a differentiating feature to the building process: thoughtful leadership. We collaborate with our building partners, providing foresight and tenacity to ensure that their dreams are built and all people involved are valued.”

Starting his career as a union carpenter in California, Riddle moved up the ranks through field supervision and project management to become a project executive and has been leading W.E. O’Neil’s Inland Empire office in California since joining the company in 2016.
When asked about his role as vice president, Riddle noted that, “I’ll be focusing on strategically pursuing work in the greater Nashville area, and we’ll also be looking for new strategic hires who exemplify and model our core values.”
